Welcome to New Releases roundup, your weekly
look at the biggest albums about to hit your ears. First up we have The Outsiders, the latest
from Eric Church. The new album finds Church continuing to veer away from country music,
diving further into the world of rock, with a little bit of soul thrown in for good measure. New York City by way of Japan duo Cibo Matto
has been quiet since two thousand and two, but are back this week with Hotel Valentine.
Even after such a long break, the group’s dark playfulness remains intact as they continue
to explore the world of experimental pop. Crowded House frontman Neil Finn is on a pace
of releasing one solo album a decade, and Dizzy Heights is his first since two thousand
and one. For this album, Finn enlisted the production of Dave Fridmann, the long-running
producer for the Flaming Lips and Mercury Rev. For more on these and the rest of this week’s
new releases, as well as all of your favorite classics, be sure to visit All Music Dot Com.
