CHRISTOPHER: LAS NIGHT, DAMP,
ERIN, WAS ACTUALLY THE FIRST
NIGHT, BUT WE HAD A BIT OF RAIN
AND THAT PUT A DAMPER ON
ATTENDANCE. TONIGHT, THERE WITHOUT A RAIN
DROP IN SIGHT, IT WAS A LIVELY
CROWD OF FAMILIES ENJOYING THE
REANACTMENT. FOR THE PAST 27 YEARS NOW. THE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH IN
SALINAS HAS CREATED ONE OF THE
OLDEST STORIES IN HUMAN HISTORY,
IMMERSING CENTRAL COAST
RESIDENTS IN A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE
LIKE NO OTHER.>>A FAMILY TRADITION, A
FRIENDSHIP TRADITION. CHRISTOPHER: LIKE MANY OTHERS. ABBY, LILY AND MADDIE SAY
THEY’VE BEEN COMING TO THE
STREETS OF BETHLEHEM REENACTMENT
FOR YEARS,
AND NOT ONLY IS THIS A FUN WAY
TO GET IN THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT, IT’S EDUCATIONAL AS WELL.>>SO WE’RE LEARNING ABOUT THIS
IN HISTORY AND IT’S KINDA LIKE
BEING ABLE TO LEARN ABOUT HTIS
— IT OUT OF SCHOOL WHERE IT’S
MORE FUN BECAUSE YOU GET TO PET
GOATS. CHRISTOPHER: NOT JUST GOATS, BUT
DONKEYS, AND THERE’S CAMELS AS
— TOO.>>JUST TRYING TO GIVE THAT
ATMOSPHERE, JUST TRYING TO GIVE
THAT TYPE OF AN EXPERIENCE SO
PEOPLE CAN SAY WOW, I GET A
LITTLE BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF
WHAT HAPPENED BACK THEN. CHRISTOPHER: FIRST BAPTIST
CHURCH SENIOR PASTOR JOHN BOSIC
SAYS IT IS NOT EASY.>>WELL IT TAKES ABOUT A YEAR. CHRISTOPHER: AND BOSIC SAYS
THERE IS ABOUT 150 VOLUNTEERS
WHO COMMIT ALL WEEKEND LONG TO
PROVIDING THE AUTHENTIC

WORTH IT. TO REENACT A SPECIAL STORY AND
SPREAD THE MESSAGE OF JESUS.>>HE BROUGHT SALVATION, A
MESSAGE OF HOPE AND REDEMPTION
